AnneMarriott Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Did anyone else clap for the NHS and other front line workers yesterday evening. We did, discreetly in the porch. We heard one other person clapping and then our nextdoor neighbour came out and joined in, so we know there were at least four persons in the Datchet/Eton/Slough/Windsor area ... 1
bangorballetboy Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Lots in our street - applause, whooping, clattering of pans. Very moving. 2
Ian Macmillan Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 We had a 100% turnout, as far as I could tell, at the end of our twisting road in Bishop's Stortford. I ventured a couple of "Bravos" out loud and a mild touch of rowdiness ensued. 6
Mumofballetmaddaughter Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 I did as did quite a lot of neighbours in doorways, gardens or from open windows. My next door neighbour is a midwife who said she felt quite touched by the level of support in our street. 1
gillm Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Marvellous turnout in my little street in Twickenham. It was very emotional. To any NHS and frontline staff on here ...💕💕💕. 1
Jan McNulty Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Lots on my road I'm happy to say. The other good thing about this was being able to yell hello to neighbours I hadn't seen for a few days. Having done a Tescos run today let's now here it for the supermarket and corner shop workers who are still keeping us fed under very difficult circumstances. 6
Balletfanp Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 My whole road out here in Plymouth! And could hear other streets right along the valley 🙂 3
JohnS Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Small hamlet of Sandale in North Cumbria certainly showed its appreciation. We’d set up a pilot meeting for Parish Councillors on Zoom and agreed on applause at 8:00 but not quite so easy to pass messages to the Chairman as when sitting alongside. Holding a full Parish Council ‘virtual’ meeting early next month and will be interested to see how many parishioners join. 1
Janite Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 It was a great thing to do and be part of, we have NHS workers in the family and they were very encouraged.
Mary Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Most of my street were out tonight clapping- it was nice to see people and wave and feel heartened. I clapped extra hard for my brother, working on a ward full of virus patients. How this has made us all think, and remember our priorities. 6
Balletfanp Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Our street out again clapping, plus someone with a horn, and a car driving by hooting as it went!
bridiem Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Most of my street seemed to be out too - lots of noise. Really uplifting.
Diandri Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Good turn out on our street in Bromley, lovely fireworks as well from the back of someone's garden too for a few minutes although that lead to a prompt retreat by our dog back inside the house!!
Jan McNulty Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Lots out tonight in Waterloo and lots of fireworks going off too.
