alison
Oh dear, so it's injury now. What a shame. I hope it's nothing too serious, given her commitments over the coming months.
LinMM
Yes Alina was replaced in Le Corsaire last Saturday matinee so guess she must have some injury.
alison
I thought they said it was illness back then, that was all. No reason it can't be both, of course, if she's exceptionally unlucky.

alison
Has anyone worked out the splits for this? The implication here https://londoncoliseum.org/whats-on/english-national-ballet-70th-anniversary-gala/ is that the first half is all the "bleeding chunks" and the second is Etudes, but that seems rather unbalanced. Irmgard
Was at the run-through last night. Yes, all the excerpts (some VERY short) are in the first half and then the second half is taken up with "Etudes". Running time approximately three hours. alison
That's what I suspected - thanks, Irmgard. So, a very long first half, since I think Etudes runs at about 45 minutes?

This is part of the email I got about tonight's performance: 'The performance starts at 19.30 and lasts approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, including two intervals.' I imagine they could be wrong? Janite
Despite the email there is only one interval And it was a wonderful evening, the first time for me that I had seen many of the dancers. Frola's jumps and Jeffrey Cirio generally were especially good. Edited January 17, 2020 by Janite
