4dancers Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 DD has an audition at the Hammond coming up soon, does anyone know of hotels that are close by? Thanks
2dancersmum Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 We stayed at Travelodge Warrington Rd Chester, which is only a couple of minutes drive from the school or a 10-15 mins walk down a country lane. There is a carvery restaurant next door to the hotel. Any of the Chester city centre hotels are only a short drive/taxi journey away as the school is only a few miles from the city centre. Good luck to DD for her audition.
Karen Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Hoole is the nearest district to the school, so if you find a hotel on this side of town, you won't be far away! Some good places to eat in Hoole too, plus the school's uniform shop. Good luck!
4dancers Posted October 26, 2012 Author Posted October 26, 2012 Thanks for the replies, they've been a great help.
All4dancers Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 For me too. I've now booked hotel and train!
famcandance2 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 The travelodge is convenient but not great. If you can afford it stay on Hoole Road, there are loads of B & b's.
Regattah Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 The Comfort Inn we found to be very good value for money. I think it was £25 per room when we stayed. We stayed at an absolute shocker pretty much across the road from the Comfort Inn last time as we couldn't find anywhere else. Never again!
famcandance2 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Yea the Comfort Inn is good and just down the road from the school. They can be a bit pricey sometimes, but if you go on places like travelrepublic you will find rooms there for cheaper.
Pointytoes22 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Slightly off subject, but on the Hammond website it says an audition date will be given on receiving your application - does anyone know if there is a deadline for applications?
famcandance2 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 No but they like you to get them in asap so that they can organise dates. Sometimes they have to put more auditions on than originally planned if they have lots of people auditioning. You can ask for dates, just look on the website for the school and it will tell you the dates they are offering at the moment. If you want to audition, I would get the application in as soon as you can.
All4dancers Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 We got dd's audition date within 3 days of sending off the application. It was for just over a month later, but the letter stated that you could request a different date if this was not convenient.
balletbun Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Have you tried the holiday inn express at Chester racecourse. I stayed there on Sunday after taking dd back after half term. Wasn't too expensive and wasn't too far from the boarding house
