DanceMum2011 Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Hi this is my first post so please be gentle if I have anything wrong lol My daughter dance teacher has mentioned that this year my daughter can audition for Scottish Ballet Junior Associates but I am wondering what is involuted in the audition. My daughter is a good dancer but when it comes to doing splits etc she is a bit stuff. We are practicing them in house but I just want to know would she need to do these in audition. Thanks for reading
Jan McNulty Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Hello DanceMum2011 and welcome to the Forum! I am sure other people can chip in but perhaps your DD's dance teacher could also give you some advice?
Ruby Foo Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 You do not have to show any splits in the audition. There are some simple hamstring flexibility exercises sitting on the floor with the legs stretched out in front but generally the audition is very simple - around gr2 standard. Showing confidence, musicality and a sense of performance is very high on the list of qualities SB look for. 1
