Sim
Hi all. Here is an email from John's family. If anyone would like to attend the funeral next week they will be most welcome. Please note the links for donations to charity in John's memory. If you would like to donate, please ensure that you do so in John's name so that his memory is celebrated by the charities. Many thanks, Sim Dear friends, John’s funeral will be held on Tuesday 27th August at 1.00 in St Giles Church, Camberwell SE5 8RB. The service will be followed by some refreshments in the Church and we will have some of his photographs on display there, while close family will be going to the crematorium after the service. We ask that you don’t send flowers but if you would like to make a donation, please give it in John’s name to any of the following charities which he supported: Amnesty International Charity Ltd, RSPCA, Alzheimer’s Society, WWF. Jan McNulty
I've just made a donation. Sadly I won't be able to attend the funeral.
RuthE
That’s my local church. I almost feel I ought to pop along even though I didn’t know him particularly well...

You should - there will be other Balletcoforum members you may recognise and I'm sure you would be made welcome.
alison
Denmark Hill (London Overground, Southeastern and, I believe, Thameslink) is probably the nearest station, although there are a number of stations more or less in a line, west-east (Brixton, Loughborough Junction, Queen's Road Peckham, and the New Crosses) which look as though they ought to have a direct bus service. Alternatively, there are numerous buses travelling south from Elephant & Castle.
RuthE
Hi Alison. From Brixton or Loughborough Junction: route 345 From New Cross/New Cross Gate/Queen’s Road Peckham: route 171, 436 or (starts at New Cross Gate) 36. From Elephant & Castle the direct routes (stopping directly outside the church) are the 12 and 171. However, anything from Elephant & Castle that goes towards Camberwell Green leaves a less than 10min walk, as do the 35 or 45 from Brixton. The 36 and 436 also provide connections from Vauxhall and Oval. Edited August 25, 2019 by RuthE
