Mary
He is such a joy: it was all too short. Thanks very much for the alert.
jm365
Lovely, interesting choice of music - and I do like his refusing to have things 'faded out'. I definitely want to get hold of a recording of the Taillefer (spelling?) fandango.
Mary
Me too- let me know if you find one. I agree about the fading; other reasons to treasure Mark Morris- from interviews over the years: 'I only use live music - and live dancers!... and I sorta hope the audience is alive' and 'There's enough theatrical work that rubs your nose in misery. I don't need it to be like that' ( his Romeo and Juliet has them survive and 'do beautiful dancing forever'.) '

jm365
Bless you JohnS! It just never occurs to me to look at Youtube for something like a piece of music. I shall treasure this.
JohnS
You’re very welcome. I wasn’t sure if there was a Ballet as I didn’t catch the programme live. Youtube is pretty good for recordings, sometimes including the score/piano transcription. But then I realised when I went to iPlayer that the tracks are all there individually to play as well as the programme. Here’s the full programme: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0003cb9 Here’s just the Fandango: http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/records/n5d8jb Many thanks for highlighting the programme.
