Richard LH Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 The upload limit for images is currently set at only .02MB (20kb). Wasn't it something like 140kb previously? Indeed only yesterday an image of 88kb was successfully uploaded.
Jan McNulty Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 I don't think anything's changed but there is an overall limit per member and perhaps you have reached yours? It's the same for everyone except me. Mine is bigger because I publish the press releases, which often have images.
Richard LH Posted February 14, 2019 Author Posted February 14, 2019 Thanks Jan. What is the overall limit? Is it time-related, or once reached does it mean you can never post another image?

I know the Admins increased the limit because of the problems I was having with PRs.
Richard LH Posted February 14, 2019 Author Posted February 14, 2019 Anyone else there in Admin that could answer this one please?
John Mallinson Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 The size limit of individual uploads is 150k so I don't quite understand your problem unless you have hit your head on the ceiling. There is an overall limit per member of 1.5Mb - I've just increased it so it might be worth trying again. The way round the restrictions is to upload images to a file sharing site and link to them from there. That's how, for instance, DanceTabs' photos are put on the site without overloading the system, in that case via Flickr. Hope that helps.
Colman Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Unfortunately the free image hosting sites are rapidly disappearing, which means people will need to pay up. I don’t know what the constraints are with the system here but it might be worth allowing useful members a larger allowance on a case by case basis.
John Mallinson Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 I don't use a Flickr account but gather that the free service is 'limited' to 1,000 images. The system here doesn't allow for individual tailoring in that way.

maryrosesatonapin Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 I have posted a few photos, sticking to the 150k limit each time, but when I tried just now I was told I have a maximum allowance of 10Kb. That means I can't share any photos whatsoever. Is this some kind of site problem?

That 10k probably refers to how much of your site allowance you have left (see John's reply to Richard LH above) 1

However, the rate at which you have been posting jpg photos onto the site, this won't last long, so please consider an alternative way of sharing your pics
JohnS Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Interested to see this as I’ve been having difficulties posting photos. I hadn’t appreciated there were limits per member so will need to look at other options.
Jane S Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Please could we have some explanation of your new system? - bit of a surprise to lsign in and find I'm a Newbie! (apologies if I've missed an announcement)
