Oh well, at least the piece is set in Russia. It would be even less appropriate if they'd been doing, say, Pearl Fishers or Aida!

 

That's a brilliant photo @Rob S Considering how many times Avis must have performed the role he still looks so joyful to be doing so.

Thank you, a bit over exposed but I only remembered he does this just as he walked in to view

It’s quite funny following some of the dancers on social media. Most of them seem relieved to be at the end of the Nutcracker run, but not Gary Avis. He is all 😢😭☹️

This seems to be catching... we had one descending slowly at the Coliseum yesterday afternoon just as Manon was in her final death throes! Quite a poignant touch, although an unlikely phenomenon  in the swamps of Louisiana!
