“BOING! is a fresh, friendly children’s show, entirely in tune with its audience.” The Independent

Following last year’s critically acclaimed run at Sadler's Wells' Lilian Baylis Studio, BOING! returns this Christmas from Thursday 20 – Monday 31st December 2012.

Set on Christmas Eve, BOING! captures the delirious excitement of waiting for Santa to arrive on the most magical night of the year. Combining comedy, acrobatics and breakdance, BOING! shows what happens when two brothers too excited to sleep, transform their bed into a trampoline.

BOING! is created by Travelling Light Theatre Company in collaboration with Bristol Old Vic and with Champloo Dance Company - one of the UK's leading professional b-boying dance companies and is directed by children's theatre specialist Sally Cookson. Joel Daniel and Wilkie Branson, co-founders of Champloo, perform the roles of the brothers.

Based in Bristol, Travelling Light has been creating theatre for young audiences since 1984, and is now highly regarded locally, nationally and internationally for producing innovative theatre.

Champloo Dance Company takes its name from the Okinawa word meaning ‘something mixed’. With their roots in b-boying, Branson and Daniel’s work has a huge emphasis on hip hop culture but takes inspiration from the word to create pieces that explore the expressive capacity of dance without restrictive genres and boundaries. Alongside the company’s artistic work, Champloo Dance Company runs an educational programme teaching b-boying to young people and creating work for the Champloo Youth Crew.

“Rumbustious, exhilarating dance theatre” The Guardian
