aileen
If you can, catch this powerful production which will be on tour after five weeks at the Noel Coward Theatre in London. The play has an all black cast and is set in modern-day Africa, which works really well. Ray Fearon is especially good as Mark Anthony and Patterson Joseph (who played Johnson in Peep Show!) is very good in the role of Brutus.

alison
It certainly looked very good when I saw it on TV a couple of months ago.
Jan McNulty
I'm seeing it at the Lowry in a couple of weeks. Can't wait!
Jan McNulty
I saw the RSC's Julius Caesar at The Lowry this afternoon. It's been re-set into a modern African state. The static set looks like part of a semi-ruined amphitheatre and with changes of lighting is incredibly effective. The ensemble cast is superb but Paterson Joseph as Brutus, Ray Fearon as Mark Antony and Cyril Nyri as Cassius are absolutely outstanding. Watching this play today, it made me realise how relevant it still is in the 21st century - as with many of Shakespeare's plays. I know it's been doing the rounds for a while but this really is a superb production that you should catch if you can.
Julie 2 Milner
Saw it in Stratford. Did post a semi review. It is an amazing production. To be honest we went to see it to avoid Jubilee celebrationa in our rod but boy was it worth it. Superb all round. Glad you enjoyed it too. alison
I *thought* we'd already had a review of it! I've now merged the two threads.
