Pas de Quatre
Clearing out some of my mother's things, I found a bank's plastic change bag full of old coins. There are pre decimal coins such as sixpences and two shilling pieces, and also lots of small denomination foreign coins. Some are from European currencies pre Euro, and even one from Czechoslovakia, which of course doesn't exist as a country now. Any ideas what to do with them? It would seem a shame just to throw them away.

Anon2
I would search out coin collector shops near you and see if they will are interested. I know all our larger local towns have a coin collector shop as son on the look out for some old pennies to complete a collection he was gifted.
Nicola H
i think Jane's advice is pretty sound , especially if you don;t have the time or inclination to do some research on the content of the bag ...
Pas de Quatre
Thanks - I'll have a look to see if there are any coin collector shops nearby.
AnneMarriott
Lots of charities take old British coins and foreign coins. If you can't find any collector shops, try googling "old British coins and foreign coins for charity".
