Nicola H
the UK has enclosure of title for Teachers after a fashion, you cannot be called or employed as a Teacher in the State sector without QTS , however there are not restrictions on scope of practice for those without QTS , not a requirement for classes to be overseen / led by someone with QTS. Actually that’s not true. QTS is a status not a qualification & it is perfectly possible to be employed as a teacher in several parts of the state sector without that status. It is only maintained schools that have this requirement. Edited April 15, 2018 by Picturesinthefirelight
