Pas de Quatre
I am looking for some examples of the use of Spring points in the Classical repertoire, i.e. girls in pointe shoes and tutus, to show it is not just a baby step, even though it is first learnt at a young age. My immediate thought is the Grand Pas from Paquita, but I would welcome any further suggestions.

Pas de Quatre
Do you mean the diagonal at the end of Kitri's solo, Ellie, where the spring points are combined with Pas de Cheval? I had rather discounted that as the hops are on pointe, or have I overlooked a different moment?
LinMM
Does the Sugar Plum Fairy do some? The most obvious is Aurora though

Pas de Quatre
It is a widely used step. A little spring (jump) from two feet, generally 1st position, lands on one leg into demi plié with the other leg stretched in front with a well pointed foot touching the floor. You can do a series hopping on one leg, the other lifting slightly and returning to the floor each time, or it can change everytime with alternate feet pointing. Commonly it is learnt at quite a young age in soft shoes, but it does also form part of the Classical vocabulary for older/professional dancers. It is quite hard to do it well in pointe shoes, achieving a light jump and a beautifully stretched foot in front. In very advanced versions, the hops are on pointe too.

Balletchick
It's in one of the allegros in Advanced 1 (I forget which one) - so that might help the case for it not being a baby step!

Pas de Quatre
Thanks, but it was examples of their use in major classical works rather than in a syllabus that I was referring to.
FullContretemps
I had a feeling that was the case (and that you probably already knew anyway!), I just have an unquenchable need to fill in pieces of information if I know them (and my knowledge of repertoire is sadly inferior to my syllabus knowledge...)
