RuthE
Oh hang on, you mean the matinee with Frankie & Ed. The ticket I relinquished has been long-promised to somebody else, I’m afraid.

Judging by the small number left, I'd guess that those for the mixed bill had been released quite a bit earlier. Thank you soooooooo much for this heads up, Alison. I know a number of people have seized the moment and got tickets when they had previously been disappointed.
alison
Me included. I'd been totally unable to get anything usable for Nunez/Muntagirov
Shade
Thanks for the info Alison. I am contemplating buying a ticket for the 13 April Osipova/Hallberg in case Mr Hallberg is out for the earlier one.
EM12
Just noticed that David Hallberg is being replaced by Vladimir Shaklyarov in Manon
HappyTurk
Bummer. But Shaklyarov and Osipova do have great chemistry.
capybara
I like Shklyarov. But why couldn't Halberg be replaced by someone from the Company? After all, each cast only gets two shows and there are quite big gaps between Osipova's performances and some others. [I often wonder this when guests are brought in.]
annamk
Shklyarov will be fabulous and I’m beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to see him in MacMillan.
alison
I thought someone was going to post that there was a sighting of casting for the Bernstein triple bill - but now I look more closely, we're in the wrong thread for that That's a huge shame, but I suppose management felt they needed to have someone of similar stature to Hallberg - plus the fact that there were two guest des Grieux scheduled suggests to me that they don't think they have enough of them in-house - and Shklyarov will be around at the time, anyway. Has he danced in Manon before?
BeauxArts
Alison: no, it will be his debut in the role.
serenade
That's a real shame, I booked for both nights to see Hallberg. The fact that I now get to see Shklyarov is softening the blow a lot though...I think they will be brilliant together! Poor David Hallberg, I bet he's gutted.

Shade
What a shame for David Hallberg. However thrilled to see Shklyarov with Osipova in Manon. Always happy to see him in London

Richard LH
Watson will have been out for how long by 12 May? I wonder how serious an injury he has....most unfortunate. I imagine Bonelli will be quite a different Des Grieux.
alison
3 months-ish, I think And I can't imagine he'd have had anything to do in Swan Lake even if fit.

alison
Yes, but the injury was only announced in early February - and the implication was that it had only recently happened.
aliceinwoolfland
So sad about Watson - was really excited to see him - but after Bonelli’s Leontes I’m looking forward to seeing his interpretation of DG!
loveclassics
I first saw him dancing DG back in 2005/6 and very good he was too but surely he has danced this role since then? Linda
alison
Pretty much every time since, I'd have thought - including that one performance with Morera.
Ulia
I wish Edward a speedy recovery. It is a pity that the leg injury did not allow him to go out in the party Leontis, any party in Des Grieux. I haven't seen the scene with Edward on 17 November. So wanted to see in may. I hope that by October Edward will be fully restored.

alison
True, even if it's only that they haven't got around to announcing a replacement yet The company's short enough of Des Grieux as it is: they don't want to lose another one.
ninamargaret
What a pity that Alexander Campbell wasn't cast for De Grieux, I think it would have suited him perfectly.
alison
I'm not sure whether it would play to his strengths? Anyway, I really appreciated his Lescaut - wouldn't have wanted to sacrifice that!

I think the softer character of De Grieux would suit him well. We obviously need two Alexander Campbells!
