Ellie
Non dancing DS is in Rome for a week. Any tips about what he should see / spend money on seeing ? I've heard that the Vatican Museums are well worth the price. x
Jan McNulty
The Pantheon, the Coliseum and the Forum would be my starting point. If he likes art galleries I loved the Barberini. Throw a coin in the Trevi fountain..,
Petunia
Climb! Look at Rome from above! The terrace of St Peter's, and if he's confident, also the cupola (very winding and narrow stairs). Up to the Pincio to look over the city from the terrace, and wander through the park to the Villa Borghese. Don't eat near the "tourist attractions" - cross the Tiber via the Ponte Sisto to eat real food in Trastevere. Get lost in the streets and alleys around Piazza Navona, then walk over Ponte Sant Angelo to the Castello. The markets! These are my favorites .

ballettaxi
All of the above recommendations!!! - Plus people watching from the Spanish Steps at night, possibly with a little gelato for company. :-) Rome is my most favourite place on the planet, I visit it every chance I get and each time I see something new in all the places I've visited 100 times before. Every corner you turn presents you with another breathtaking sight. Very jealous as I don't have my next trip planned.
