A haunting story of innocence and betrayal, and a timeless tale about the redemptive power of love, Mary Skeaping’s Giselle features some of ballet’s most dramatic scenes and otherworldly images. Adolphe Adam’s classic score is performed live by English National Ballet Philharmonic. Principal casting for Mary Skeaping’s Giselle sees Guest Artist Jurgita Dronina make a welcome return to English National Ballet. Currently Principal at the National Ballet of Canada, Dronina reprises her performance in the title role following her debut with the Company at the London Coliseum in January this year. Further Principal casting sees Lead Principal Erina Takahashi, Soloist Alison McWhinney, and Junior Soloist Katja Khaniukova perform in the title role. Performing in the role of Albrecht is Lead Principal Isaac Hernández, Principal Yonah Acosta, First Soloist Cesar Corrales, and Junior Soloist Ken Saruhashi. See below for full Principal casting. To coincide with Giselle at the Grand Opera House, Belfast, English National Ballet will host a programme of workshops and events aimed to provide access to ballet and engage with audiences of all ages beyond the stage. The programme of events includes Creative, Schools, and Family Workshops, a Dance Insight to Giselle event, Live Drawing, and a taster of English National Ballet’s ground-breaking Dance for Parkinson’s programme.
