alison
I've just realised that the new forum software no longer seems to "prettify" links by shortening them I've just posted a 2-line one, and every character shows up. Not pretty.
John Mallinson
Hadn't noticed this but I rarely use 'naked' web links, preferring to highlight text and then use the Link function.
trog
Did the old software shorten links? Looking at some old posts, such as the one below, the links are very long. As John says, I use the link function. Something I hadn't tried before was a link to a posting on the site, which displays different - the previous version just displayed a url inline, not in an iframe as this does. alison
Yes, Trog, it used to go "www.blahblah.com......asfdasdf" or whatever, so I never bothered smartening them up.
