Launch of the McNicol Ballet Collective

Andrew McNicol was one of the choreographers in the first Northern Ballet Choreographic Laboratory held in 2015.  Since then I have kept half an eye out for what he has been doing.  I'm a bit late in the day with this but at the end of January he launched the McNicol Ballet Collective.

After much behind the scenes work and extensive planning I am pleased to announce the launch of The McNicol Ballet Collective! 

Based on the success and support given to our pilot project in summer 2016, we are now working towards creating our first programme of ambitious new ballets. 

Bringing together dancers from companies across Europe, our ambition is to create new and experimental works informed by our collective experiences.  

I’m so looking forward to choreographing the works for this first triple bill programme. Our new webpage will be regularly updated with details and progress of our work."

Announcing Dancers! 

I’m thrilled to announce the dancers for our 2017 summer session. We will begin work towards our first creation this July in the beautiful surroundings of the Royal Opera House Studios, London. 

I’m so looking forward to bringing these beautiful dancers together for the first time. Currently members of The Royal Ballet Flanders, Norwegian National Ballet, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and Dresden SemperOpera Ballett.

Indeed there are!  I believe that it is a summer project so assume the dancers are not leaving their companies.

 

I loved the piece that Andrew McNicol did as part of the NB chores lab and I look forward to seeing more of his work.
