Carol Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 (Edit: A home for old posts relating to BBC Radio 3's "In Tune" drivetime programme. Details and iPlayer links will be out of date.) Sorry for short notice, however In Tune is usually on iPlayer for one week.An interview with Christopher Wheeldon, accompanied by Royal Ballet ballerina, Beatriz Stix-Brunell.The programme runs from 4.30pm until 6.30pm.
Paul Arrowsmith Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I believe (from those more in the know than me) Stix-Brunell is replacing Nunez in Alice's Adventures.
bangorballetboy Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I believe (from those more in the know than me) Stix-Brunell is replacing Nunez in Alice's Adventures. This has not been confirmed by ROH or RB.
Paul Arrowsmith Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 They said in the interview she would be the new Alice - but not who she is replacing.
bangorballetboy Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 They said in the interview she would be the new Alice - but not who she is replacing. As it's now been mentioned on the radio, I'm happy to say that Chris Wheeldon told me earlier this week that Beatriz Stix-Brunell & Nehemiah Kish will be replacing Marianela Nuñez and Rupert Pennefather in the forthcoming Alice.
alison Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Drat: and I'd booked for the casts I hadn't seen, so hadn't booked Marianela's performances. Too late now, I suspect. 1
zxDaveM Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I wish they were doing the dress rehearsal (for some pics). Much as I love Sarah Lamb, we had her last year for the Friends rehearsal, so would have been nice to get someone different.

Much as I love Sarah Lamb, we had her last year for the Friends rehearsal, so would have been nice to get someone different. That would have made perfect sense, Dave. I never quite understand why photographers aren't invited to dress rehearsals for other casts; this time particularly as few photographs will exist of Stix-Brunell, although I recall you took an especially fine one during her solo in Ballo della regina.
John Mallinson Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Carol, sometimes there is more than one photocall with different casts but not all the photographers get invited. The photos the RB released for Alice last season were of Cuthbertson and Polunin (first cast) rather than Lamb and Bonelli who did the Friends' rehearsal.

Much as I love Sarah Lamb, we had her last year for the Friends rehearsal, so would have been nice to get someone different. But Dave we have got someone different .... Steven McRae ..... and presumably a few other cast changes too.

Wulff Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Stix-Brunell and Kish did Friday's rehearsal, so maybe there will be some pics from that. Also Paul Kay danced the Mad Hatter and Laura Morera the Red Queen.

Bluebird Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) Here it is: http://www.bbc.co.uk...dy_Tamara_Rojo/ Edit: I've just skimmed through it and found the start of the interview at around 1h 43m. Edited November 13, 2012 by Bluebird
Sim Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Thanks very much Bluebird. Alison, it usually takes a while for the link to turn up after broadcast, sometimes not until the next day.
John Mallinson Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 (edited) Today's In Tune on BBC R3 has a feature about The Nutcracker with (I think) RB dancer Sarah Lamb and conductor Koen Kessels. Added: …and Judith Mackrell's just tweeted that she's talking too. Edited December 19, 2012 by John Mallinson
