vmmom
Hello! Do you have any info about the Hamburg Ballet School. My daughter attended the final audition. It's seem to be a very nice place where study ballet, very nice boarding school, well supervised. My question is how many of those with a diploma from the Hamburg Ballet School got a place in good companies? ???? Jan McNulty
Yijing Zhang, who is now a soloist at BRB joined the company from the Hamburg school.
pas de chat
It is amazing how their boarding fees are 5,000/class fees 1800 euros a year. How can that be - are they state subsidised? Why are we so different in this country?
dramascientist
Probably Pas de Chat, DD went to a National Ballet School in Europe and it was free! We were very lucky!
meadowblythe
Know of a student who went to the school for 6.3. Did an extra year in the school and has been in the company ever since. Certainly the company take a lot of the students from the school - DS made the final 6 of the company audition last year, and was advised to take a year in the school if he was interested. The company he did join recently offered one of the Hamburg School graduates a place.

Why are we so different in this country? The "theatre class" which is the one overseas students usually audition for is fee free. Higher Education tuition is free in Germany for everyone, even foreigners!
