Katymac Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 DD (19) is struggling with audition wear which she can wear a bra under. She is 2nd year and college say no visible bras - but it can be street wear she just needs to be able to dance in it She loves this https://www.prettylittlething.com/carlita-green-lace-choker-plunge-thong-bodysuit.html but it has a low back Any recommendations?
Moomin Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 That one would be really difficult as it's also low at the sides so no chance of a bra or any support! It's more traditional than her choice but have you looked on the eleve website? You can customise the materials so could stand out at audition and some styles would be possible with a bra http://www.elevedancewear.com
Katymac Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) That's amazing! Thank you so much!! Edited January 10, 2017 by Katymac
Anna C Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Eleve leos are absolutely gorgeous. Just be careful of the Post Office and Customs whacking on about £12 in addition to the cost - import tax plus a hefty PO "handling fee". 2
Katymac Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 Thanks for the warning Anna - the individuallity might be worth it They look great
Nicola H Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) Eleve leos are absolutely gorgeous. Just be careful of the Post Office and Customs whacking on about £12 in addition to the cost - import tax plus a hefty PO "handling fee". the handling fee that RM / PFW charge is one of the smaller ones and a lot smaller than if you got a customs agent to do it ... the only semi legitimate way to avoid it especially from the US ( where postal offences are federal felonies and the USPS has it's own police force to enforce ) is if you have a firend / family member in the US /NAFTA who can get it delivered to them repackage it and send it as a gift ... Lily_883 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 I have ordered a custom leotard from LaBella dancewear before and managed to avoid any customs / RM charges. Not sure if that was down to luck or because their prices are a bit cheaper than Eleve (especially if you catch a promotion) and so the value of the goods imported was lower. In any event, I love the leotard I ordered so thought I'd share the link. https://labelladancewear.com

Lisa O`Brien Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I've bought a couple of pairs of pointe shoes from online dance stores in the States before; brands you can't get anywhere else. On every occasion the import charges cost me more than the shoes. [Had to have them though !! .]

2dancersmum Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Slightly curious as to what she is auditioning for and needing the added expense of a 'special' leotard if she is in her 2nd year. is this for within the college? Or getting prepared for graduation year?
Katymac Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) It's for Move it - Performers do a display & it's hard to get noticed (if you aren't a third year) TBH it's a long shot but pantomime auditions start in May so it won't be wasted Edited to add - but realistically she will need this sort of leaotard for a good few years; so sites to look on are great Edited January 14, 2017 by Katymac 2
Angeldancewear Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 If its a leotard which will help her to stand out on stage at Move It - this magenta Kalani Hilliker leotard number should do the trick, or perhaps a white & black Five Dancewear Agent leotard
Katymac Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 Actually the second one is similar to what she bought hopefully she will look good in white, her skin will be quite a contrast She would be in costume on stage....she just needs to be good enough
Katymac Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 It's not quite Ballet - this is 2 years ago & I think it's amazing 3
Katymac Posted January 15, 2017 Author Posted January 15, 2017 It was worth it - we are going to Move-it 1
