Good news for the MDS

Recommended Posts

"The Music and Dance scheme, which provides grants to talented young artists who could not otherwise afford to attend world-class institutions like the Royal Ballet School, will receive an additional £29 million a year until 2018".

if only...

I thought it was too good to be true - £58 million a year, doubling the current allocation.

so, a few days later Nick Gibb confirmed in Parliament that there is no extra money for MDS, it just stays the same - here's his written answer

The press release was wrong and that money isn't 'additional'. But hey, £29 million, £58 million, £350 million, who's counting??? ;)

Interesting article Stirrup. Does that mean regarding Dada that it covers up to 2018 to those in the system eg current 2nd years who are due to finish July 2018? Or other new students starting Sep 2017 and Sep 2018 for the full 3 years of their course.x

Just read the above and am a little confused ! (Doesn't take much).

So govt announced extra 29m but is Stirrups36 saying it is not actually extra just the original budget ?
