Colman
I know that the moderators are volunteers, but it does seem that the consideration of locking that thread is taking a little bit long. I'm also slightly confused at which point it took an "unwelcome turn".
John Mallinson
Colman, thanks for raising this matter. We think the thread should stay closed. There is no absolute embargo on political discussions here but an advisory pinned to the top of the Not Dance forum cautions against, as they are largely irrelevant to the main purpose of this forum and are likely to engender more heat than light. In this case comparison of the state of Britain to Nazi Germany seems to us an unwelcome turn into a very dark place.
MAB
Under the circumstances I agree with the decision, but may I be allowed a post which relates to the US electoral decision? It concerns the thoughtful reaction of a group of performers and the angry response of the audience when Mike Pence, the Vice President Elect, went to see a New York musical. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-38036872 If a decision is made to remove this I will not be offended.
