I am afraid I don't know how to access a channel called PBS America here but the listings are praising a feature-length documentary about ABT, to be shown in the UK this coming Friday at 7.50pm. There are sections on Jerome Robbins, Agnes de Mille and Balanchine, and Alicia Alonso is among the veterans of the early years who contribute.

Maybe someone could post extra information on how to watch as this sounds most interesting.

According to the PBS America UK website "You can find us on Sky channel 534, Virgin Media 276 and Freesat 156".

Thanks for this - found on Freesat and set to record. Great!

You're lucky - PBS American keeps falling off my FreeSat box (along with a bunch of other channels). Anyway, thanks for the info - I.ll have to try a retune and see if PBS comes back.

It's also repeated at 11:50 that night.  If you want to record programmes I've often noticed that the later the transmission, the shorter it is.  That's because there are fewer and briefer ad breaks - always a good thing!

Thanks for the tip about the later showing, loveclassics.  I recorded it and watched about 30 minutes last night (very busy weekend so will have to do it in sections).  It is a lovely documentary with a mixture of intelligent commentary, still photos and film footage.
