Here is the official press release:

The New Professional Dance Experience Youth Ballet Theatre is coming to Manchester…

Young ballet students from across the North of England will have the opportunity to learn from a Professional Choreographer and ex Professional Ballet Dancers, culminating in a performance of brand new choreography at the Z Arts Theatre in Manchester.

In Spring 2017, a small company of up to 40 young dancers will be performing a brand new dance work, created by Professional Choreographer, Louise Bennet. Louise is a Royal Ballet School trained Professional Choreographer who has also performed with English National Ballet, the Norwegian National Ballet and the Royal Swedish Ballet.

Louise is a former recipient of both the Kenneth Macmillan and Dame Ninette de Valois awards for choreography at the Royal Ballet School. She has created dance works for The Royal Ballet, The Royal Ballet School, Ballet Central, Artelier and Tivoli Ballet, as well as taking part in The Royal Opera House's Draftworks workshop and Dancelines project with Wayne McGregor.

The students at the Youth Ballet Theatre will learn from Louise over a number of weeks, starting with a pre season Workshop in Manchester on December 17th 2016. Students will also be taught by Royal Ballet School trained ex Professional Ballet Dancers, Kimberley and Michael Berkin. Between them Kimberley and Michael have performed with Royal New Zealand Ballet, Northern Ballet, Ballet Ireland, English National Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Kimberley Berkin, Director of Courses at Professional Dance Experience commented: “We are passionate about giving young people the opportunity to develop and improve on their ballet technique, performance and artistic skills.

“There is no audition to join the Youth Ballet Theatre and the number of participants is limited to no more than 40 dancers. This allows our team to give more individual attention to the students, both in class and rehearsals.”

“A smaller group also allows for individual students to excel and increases the opportunity for all students to spend more time learning from our team of ex-Professional Ballet Dancers and Professional Choreographer. Michael and I are very excited to see the students performing Louise Bennett’s work”.

Ballet teachers and students and parents who are interested in participating in the Youth Ballet Theatre this season can find out more information at www.youthballettheatre.co.uk or by calling Professional Dance Experience on 0113 2249 144.
