ILLLUSTRATED LECTURE: THE NUTCRACKER BALLET STORY (1892). By MARGARET FLEMING-MARKARIAN (in English)

This talk on The Nutcracker ballet focuses on an allegory of freedom, using clues mainly from the libretto and the original designs in the St Petersburg Theatre Library. Such freedoms are political, economic, social and spiritual - and all are woven into the guise of a delightful story about a little girl called Clara who receives the gift of a nutcracker as a Christmas present!
