Jan McNulty
There is an article in Today's links about a Peacock Spider named after Li Cunxin: http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/maos-last-dancer-li-cunxin-inspires-name-of-peacock-spider-20160711-gq35fz.html Here's a film I came across on Youtube of the gorgeous little spider (and who would ever think I would say that about a spider!):
Lisa O`Brien
Quite a cute little thing. And for a serious Arachnaphobe like myself , that's some compliment !
alison
Wow. What a strange-looking spider. And so bright! I'm only sorry I haven't got audio on my work computer: the commentary must have been very enlightening.
Jan McNulty
It was a "dance" track Alison, no spoken word.
alison
Oh, what a shame. I was expecting some sort of Attenborough-like commentary telling us precisely why he was displaying, what purpose the "non-legs" had and so on. I'm bitterly disappointed.
