If you don't know of Aston Hall, it's one of the gems of Birmingham, It is a magnificent seventeenth century red-brick mansion situated in a picturesque public park on the north side of Birmingham. King Charles I visited and it was besieged by the Parliamentarian's. The house still bears the scars.
