Vocational schools and socks/tights

I get the impression that in RBS Year 7s wear socks at first... I was wondering do they do this for the whole year or just until the teacher thinks they are ready to wear tights? And if it is the latter, by the time they are ready for pointe would they still be wearing socks or would they be wearing tights and approximately when would it be that they graduate to tights? And how is it in other vocational schools?

 

What about junior associates; do all JAs wear socks?

It is my understanding that in most places it's socks until year 8, including if doing pointe work.

My dd went to W/L it's socks in yr 7 & for pointe, convertable tights from yr 8

And what about Mid Associates; do they wear tights? I assume they do.

Mid associates wear tights

WL year 7s wear socks even in pointe class which they start right from the beginning of Year 7. However next year they are having a change of uniform and Year 7s will probably be in tights all year.

Elmhurst Y7 girls wear socks just during the first term (pointe class as well) then they wear tights from January.

RBS MA wear tights.

Tring first form (yr7) wear socks for the whole year and that includes pointe work.

Second form is tights.

It's up to the teacher but at Hammond my dds year were allowed tights after the Christmas of year 7.

Dd is currently in Y7 at the hammond, they were allowed to wear tights after assessments in november.
