Interested Parent
DD's feet have changed so much in her first year at 16+ vocational school and we are getting nowhere fast with our usual pointe shoe fitters. Can anyone recommend a truly specialist fitter anywhere in the country? Used all the usual shops in London and locally but would like an individual, private fitting and happy to pay over and above if required.

Lema
I second the vote for Dancique in Birmingham, message them on Facebook or give them a call, they are so lovely and very helpful and I'm sure they will be able to help.
MayKwok
I second the vote for Just Ballet in either Wisbech or Southend. I didn't manage to visit the shops and Sheila actually did the fitting by mail order. It did involve a lot of back and forth sending of shoes, but we got there in the end. They have a good varied selection of brands and styles.

Interested Parent
Dancique in Birmingham. Hi Pictures. Does Dancique fit a variety of shoe makes?
Anon2
In answer to your two questions - Linda is in Brighton (or was when we last saw her) and Dancique fit a variety of brands.
2dancersmum
Dancique do have a number of different makes of pointe shoe. I found them the best of all the fitters we have ever used, including London ones like Freed. Very friendly and helpful as well as professional too.

Picturesinthefirelight
Yes, a very large selection & several styles/options within the brands too. Dd has the most awkward feet (size 2.5 G/H street size with hyper flexible foot) Off the top of my head they stock Bloch, Grishko, Russian Pointe, Merlet, Gaynor Minden & several Freed styles.
dancefanatic
A bit of a trek from Brighton but my DD's MA's teacher recommends Dancewell in Bristol. We've been there twice now and both fitters seem to know their stuff. My DD's feet are wide across the ball of the foot with narrow heels, high arches and turn into those fantastic banana feet when pointed (which makes finding a good shoe for her quite hard I think). They stock a wide range of pointes too and, although our teacher prefers certain styles, they ended up moving away from those in order to find the best fit for her.

Interested Parent
Thank you everyone. We have 3 good choices now. Just need to find a slot when both DD and I can get over there ((-;
Millie3
Also highly recommend dancewell in Bristol. Only place that has ever fitted dd's feet correctly, after years of being sold ill fitting shoes from the obvious shops up and down the country! SwaybackSapphire
My DD won't go anywhere else to be fitted and has been in RP's for a year. Pictures - can they not be ordered as I have to order DD's as she has to have an extra long vamp.
Picturesinthefirelight
No, they can't be made in a 2.5 (street size equivalent)
SwaybackSapphire
Pictures - have just confirmed with Helene at Dancique that they can be ordered in small (and as small as 2.5) and half sizes but have to be specially ordered, like my daughters shoes do. Maybe give them a call and they will help. X
