Just got DD letter she has reserve ! I'm disappointed but she told me after audition that the talent was amazing so she won't be upset . Don't expect many will be turning down a place ? Congrats to all that have a yes you should be very proud and let's hope some of us on reserve get a chance . Do u know if everyone gets on reserve if not placed ?? Xx

Oh double trouble I am sorry to hear that.  Wow that's tough.  I would have thought that older dancers would have much more chance of having a part

I would imagine there would be a few not taking the place.  Wonder if its worth ringing to see what the likelihood is?x

My DD (age 10) has also been given a residential place. She is SO excited about 10 days at Tring, having boarded there at Easter on their dance course.

Anyone else got a JAs who will be staying??

Also, a rather silly question re uniform (which has to be ordered really soon!). It says that they only wear the official JA leotards for press calls and specific rehearsals. So, I wondered how many uniform leotards are needed for the 10 day stay?? DD has loads of other leotards so don't want to order more than necessary but equally don't want her being short of fresh dance wear through the stay!!

Only 1 official NYB Leotard is needed.  Also, all dirty vocational dancewear will be taken to laundry on a daily basis, so please make sure you have you child's name on everything from socks, underwear, leotards etc as this will then be given back to your child at the end of the day.

Hello,

Does anyone know if the JA's are required every day?

Have been offered a residential place for my daughter but considering commuting if its not all day every day.

Thanks x

My dd is main cast age 13. I sent the contract back and got a wardrobe measurement which I returned and got confirmation it was received but not heard anything else or if the contract was received. We are new to this and was wondering if anyone else had heard anything. I've emailed today just to check they got it.

Just to say that they usually send out a further pack once all the acceptances are in with more information, etc. x

Thanks! I'd just chalked it up to experience and have been trying to arrange another summer school instead?

We did meet someone through EYB offered a JA spot but no boarding so as it stood she couldn't accept..? Maybe this is why a spot cropped up? We would be in exactly same position though (need residential) and they wouldn't offer boarding to us and not her.

I'm not sure she can apply next year as it will clash with 11+ exams. Ah well....

Well congrats to DD anyway. What a shame that she won't be able to do it though. I'd be tempted not to tell her if your plans are fixed now.

If NYB would be an option for you with boarding, it may be worth calling them. I think that they are offering boarding to those who they know have had experience of staying away before. Maybe the other DC had not had this experience??

No on both counts as we are going away that week pus she hasn't been old enough to board anywhere before. I think there might be other more suitable options for her this year. Hopefully another on the reserve list will get the chance now though!!!

Hi

My DD is getting excited for Sunday

She's just a little nervous with not knowing anyone and staying away for 10 days.

Is there anybody going from the North of England who she may no from other dance events. X

I probably wouldn't tell her- she already knows that she did well enough to get on reserve so the news wouldn't add anything, would it. Apart from possibly a grumpy child on holiday! she's done a summer school, she's getting a family holiday as well- perfect summer????

Sorry just realised your post was old- did you tell her pv?!
