Lema Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Can anyone recommend any good CD's or music on iTunes/YouTube for my dd to practice at home to please?? She currently just searches on YouTube but mainly only comes up with the big famous tracks and as much as she enjoys them she would like some songs that are more like what is played in class, thanks ????
Anna C Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Assuming she is old enough to practice at home unsupervised, David Plumpton's music is wonderful. You can either buy CDs or download his albums or just individual tracks from itunes. 3
drdance Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 If you use Spotify, there are some great ballet class CD's on there - my current favourite is Modern Ballet Studio Melodies by Christopher N Hobson. 2
Lema Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 Anna C it's mainly exercises/routines and stretches given as homework from teachers. Thank you both I will check out your recommendations ???? 1
Picturesinthefirelight Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Dd loves the David Plumpton CDs 1
Nana Lily Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Agree David Plumpton's music is fabulous. Each piece is for a specific exercise or enchantment to a wide variety of music styles from classical, musical theatre and I think there may be a Christmas one! He is also a well known and highly regarded ballet pianist, playing for companies, Northern, Royal, associate schemes and summer schools to name a few. 2
balletqs Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Music for ballet class by Rob Thaller downloadable on iTunes is fab and by far the cheapest. Tho I realise all above are good I find Robs speeds really good. 2
Bellini Pointe Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Venti Petrov , Ferdi Tumakaka and Lisa Harris all have good Ballet Class Albums on Spotify. 1
alison Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 We keep trying to persuade our marvellous pianist (who even composes her own pieces) to make some recordings, but no success thus far 1
Lema Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 What a shame Alison, it would be wonderful for the kids to be able to practice at home to the music of a pianist that they know and are familiar with their playing, lovely idea!! 1
