taxi4ballet
Has anyone been offered a funded place without physio? Yes, it does happen.
Dreamy11
I've heard of people at royal not seeing physio and being offered places but not sure about tring? Maybe someone else on here knows that have experienced it themselves?

Dreamy11
Was this after being at the funding audition? I know people are offered places after the initial audition. Which year was this for taxi4ballet? Edited February 24, 2016 by balletqueen
leader1
DD was called for physio last year and was put on waiting list for funding for entry into yr10. Â When called for physio it does not mean that you are being offered a place, and also vice versa.
Piccolo
DD was at finals last year (trying for yr 8), and again this year (trying for yr 9). She didn't get a recall for physio at either audition. Last year, the recalls we knew about went on to be offered the MDS. I don't know how a school could be in the position to be able to offer a child a scholarship without the information from a physio assessment, unless they such exceptional dancers that the panel had already made their minds up. leader1
Hi Piccolo, my DD was recalled along with two other girls and were not offered funded places for yr 10, but waiting list.  She was offered a fee paying place, but I don't appear to have 30k a year knocking around in the bank unfortunately   Elmhurst finals give everyone a physio assessment, which i think is much fairer, agree that without the info from a physio how can they offer.
Piccolo
Hi Leader1, DD was also offered a waiting list place for Tring last year, although I'm sure, without a physio assessment, it must be just a way to let them down gently. The head of dance, who I noticed leaving this year, dogwalker style, with a big fluffy looking dog in tow, looked like she'd have a bit of empathy for the 'almost, but not quite' sort of child. Piccolo
Apart from costing a fortune, these audition days are also not good for my waistline. Starting with the Premiere Inn breakfast, today has become a 'what the hell, I think I'll just eat and drink everything insight sort of a day...
drdance
Piccolo...That's a nice image, I can imagine the scene now, countryside, winter sunset, big barbour jacket, dubarrie boots and a gorgeous fluffy dog in tow :-) ... a lovely thought although sometimes appearances can often be deceptive!!!!!

Piccolo
Why take 60 people back to a funding audition when there are only 6 funded places?! Such an expensive invitation in hindsight...
Billyelliott
Why take 60 people back to a funding audition when there are only 6 funded places?! Such an expensive invitation in hindsight... Loulabelle
I believe the school do have some scholarships available and there will be a number of students (maybe all at funding finals??) put on a waiting list for funding as not all will take up their offer due to multiple offers. Also I know in the past when they have had a very late withdrawal and funding becomes available they call back students on the waiting list for another look at them.

Dreamy11
The 60 asked back were for years 7,8,9 and 10 and probably more invited back for year 7 is my guess. We didn't pay the deposit.
amos73
There were I think eighteen asked back for year 7 girls. There were two more groups, one for boys, and then one for 8 9 and 10. Â We didn't pay a deposit either.
Dreamy11
Amos, is it letter or email, I forgot to ask? Have no idea how many in gp 2 or if just boys. There were a couple of boys in gp 3 with my dd. Edited February 25, 2016 by balletqueen
amos73
I didn't ask either! Expecting a letter though as that was how the prelim results came?
Dreamy11
Am hoping it will be sooner than 2-3 weeks, they did tell us they would be sitting down yesterday afternoon to discuss everyone !
Lema
You only pay the registration fee if you are actually accepting your place, regardless of funding outcome. In other words you only pay the fee if you can afford to pay for your place if funding is not offered. If you are not able to accept your place without the help of funding then you don't pay the registration fee. Â I think all the auditions were mixed years, not sure how many for each year?? But would assume there would be more for year 7, just a guess though.

Dreamy11
Does anyone know if results of funding audition for tring come by email or post? 2-3 weeks seems a long time to decide?
Lema
Just been and checked last years letters and Tring funding audition was on 11th and the post mark on the results letter was 13th so I really doubt it will be 2-3 weeks, more likely 2-3 days if anything like last year!! And letter was by post not email
