  1. I'm a teacher, and our London based dance school would like to start doing competitions but would like some advice on where to start. Any good local competitions to start with? Are solos or group dances better to begin with? Are there criteria for each style/age group? Any other advice for starting out? We currently have some very talented children with strong technique up to age 14 in all genres. Thanks so much in advance!
  2. Dear All, I live in Abidjan, Cote D' Ivoire in West Africa and I am looking to hire a ballet teacher/instructor for a small ballet school which I am looking to open here. If there is anyone who has experience with ballet age ranging from 3 upwards and would like to go an a new adventure in a new country please do contact me with resume and/or videos/images via my e-mail below. There will be a package put together of course and we will discuss once contacted. Thank you for your time. Juomana my e-mail is johelwani@gmail.com
  3. Hi there I'm 18 yrs old and currently training to become a dance teacher with the IDTA. I'm currently learning IDTA intermediate ballet and once I've done my exam will be doing the pre-associate and associate for it. I've heard you can become an RAD teacher once I'm IDTA qualified, I don't know if this is true? I hope so! Anyway I just have a few questions to see what people think - I've done RAD ballet my whole life ever since I was 5, but I've never done tap and modern exams I've done performances in tap, modern, street etc but not exams. I know its a silly question but one day I'm going to have to make the decision, what sounds better: An RAD dance school with just ballet exams and tap and modern non-syllabus OR shall I do all the IDTA theatre associates so theres exams in IDTA ballet, tap and modern? I don't feel very confident teaching tap and modern syllabus work because I've obviously never done the exams. Which one would you rather take your child to or sounds better? Thank you
  4. So next year I am leaving my Ballet school as I am going to university. My Ballet teacher is my biggest inspiration and also like a second mum to me so I want to get her something really special. I am willing to spend quite a bit of money if needs be which is why I'm asking early! I know that she likes chocolates, wine etc but I don't feel that any of that is special enough. She has two young children that I get on really well with and who both adore Frozen so I could get like a family present maybe? I also know that her iPod that she uses for class music is extremely old (like the IPod Classic that isn't made anymore!!) and it keeps freezing up etc with a slightly damaged screen, so maybe something along the technological route? I'm really not sure what to get her! Any ideas?
