  1. National Youth Ballet is delighted to announce a 5-day non-residential Dancers’ Development Experience in Elmhurst Ballet School, Birmingham, designed to support and nurture the talented young dancers of the future. The course will take place from Monday 14th August 2023 - Friday 18th August 2023, 10am-4pm daily. Dancers will have the chance to work together as a company, to hone their technical skills, develop their artistry and cultivate their creativity. These young people will develop their skills as company dancers, whilst experiencing first-hand the process of creating a new ballet with a professional choreographer. There will be a focus on developing performance skills and all the work will be supported by NYB's Moving Minds, designed to build confidence and resilience in young performers. The dancers will have the opportunity to take class with Louise Bennett (Performance Company Artistic Director) and Amelia O’Hara (Performance Company Associate Artistic Director), and will receive personal, written feedback at the end of the course from NYB Creative Director Jo Meredith. 2. Hello, would someone be able to recommend a good dance course during the Easter half term break? My daughter is 9 years old and live in the South East. RBS and Elmhurst start age 11+ and I was wondering if there were any other comparatively good courses for younger ballet dancers?
  3. Hi there, I wanted to let you know about a course I have running this Summer and I hope I'm posting this in the correct section! From 14th to 18th August 2017 I will be running an intensive week of ballet classes designed for ADULT BEGINNERS. The classes will be held at our studio in Shalford, which is 5 minutes from Guildford, Surrey. We have a lovely studio with Harlequin flooring, ballet barres, mirrors and a large changing/waiting area. The timetable for the week is currently being finalised but will include a daily Pilates class, one or two ballet classes per day, a couple of Yoga classes during the week, a Jazz class if we can fit one in, and hopefully by the end of the week you'll have learned a piece of choreography to perform. This course is not suitable for anyone other than beginners and is restricted to 12 places only, so that you can get the most out of the week's tuition. Guildford is a great area with access to mainline rail links and the village of Shalford is very picturesque. There seems to be a lot of summer courses aimed at pre-vocational/vocational students so I wanted to provide a course for those that have always wanted to learn ballet but maybe thought they'd left it too late Please drop me an email if you're interested and I can send you more information: welovetodance.net@googlemail.com or you can call me on 07946 363 556.
