  1. Hi parents/carers, (I hope I'm not breaking the rules on promoting this associates course). Phoenix Associates are launching further associates. All their associate students also get the opportunity to audition for their agency DSA which now works in collaboration with Michelle Zeitlins company in LA. 2. Hi all I know there have been several questions about associate schemes and just wondered what people's thoughts are. In talking about RBS, Elmhurst , Tring BTUK, Central etc, does being in any of their associate schemes carry weight what so ever when it comes to auditioning for full time training ? Do they even take this into consideration do you think ? I mean you would say that a JA must have ' something ' to even be one so would therefore a JA get preference when it came to auditioning ? Not necessarily for the RBS but would Elmhurst say take this child more seriously ? The same applies for SA's and upper school. Or does it make no difference whatsoever ? Just interested on what other people though
  3. DD is auditioning for LCB (1 November) and if she doesn't get in to the company she wanted to audition for Tring CBA however we may be too late sending in the application form for Tring Cba. So we were wondering does Tring CBA have a deadline for when the application forms for the audition have to be in?
  4. I feel a bit ridiculous asking about this when everyone is so knowledgeable and further down the line from us!!!! My 8 year old DS is starting LJB associates on the 20th which he is very excited about. His teacher has also mentioned he should sign up for the RBS associate experience day. Does anyone know what it involves? Also I just had to say yes that I had asked my son's teacher to apply for LJB but for RBS experience I practically had to write down the inside leg measurement of his teachers (numbers, email, address etc) Why do they ask for so much information? Ok now I sound very "new" so sorry about the basic questions! Coniger
  5. There seems to be quite a lot of Associates schemes around these days. I am taking my 9 year old DD to Graham Fletcher's Ballet Associates audition next Sunday. I was glad to find one outside of all the others that started at this age, so maybe this is helpful to know.
  6. Hi is there anybody else with a DS doing Elmhurst Associates and then JA's in Birmingham?
  7. My DD will be auditioning for LJB in September. We are new to the whole 'Associate' concept and this will be her first audition. Interested in hearing from others with more experience about what we should expect from the audition, whether LJB is a good junior programme and any others we should consider. We are London based do thinking Tring CBA, YDA and RBS JA would be worth looking at.
  8. Hi Just wondered if there are any other parents on here that are about to start their child's new JA journey in Covent Garden in September? Would be lovely to know in advance!
  9. Dd would do anything to have a job in later life related to dance in any way (especially ballet) and she tries to look for new things to do eg. Summer schools and master classes. I'm quite new to associates though!DD goes to her local dance school which is held in a church nearby - nothing too special!!- and her teacher hasn't suggested anything to her about associates but DD is really keen to do some. So we have signed up to RAD associates but she may not get a place! Should DD do associates anyway/audition for some? Can she attend them if her teacher hasn't signed her up to them?
  10. This looks like a really good scheme and I was wondering if any of you wonderful people has any experience of it. What's the audition process like and how long do you wait to hear afterwards?
  11. I'm sure I'll hear in due course but just wondered if anyone might be able to tell me what the class times for Sept 2015 in Manchester are? Trying to plan ahead and failing miserably! Thanks
  12. Not sure if anyone else is here today but if you are good luck! The studios are amazing!!
  13. Hi all. Was just wondering how flexible most associate classes like their students to be when they are of the age around about 12 - 13? Do they expect all splits? Full floor point? Please help as I'm not sure whether my DD is flexible enough!
  14. I know there's probably threads for individual associates courses but I wasn't sure if there was one with multiple... basically I want to do a ballet associates course or something similar, I'm 17 and looking to apply to vocational dance school for September 2016, but I'm trying to figure out if I should bother applying to ballet schools or not! also if anyone knows of any teachers that do private lessons in hertfordshire/Bedfordshire area that'd be fab too. any other suggestions welcome
  15. I have posted an application form for the JA but haven't heard anything back. Does anyone know when auditions are?
