  1. my DD also has curly hair , flyaway hair - for getting it just right for competitons and exams etc I have found this helps - straightening then using products called PINK hair gel and hairspray (designed for black hair) u can get these from black beauty shops or bigger boots store. /smoothing it down with nit comb and /or bristle hair brush I have seen the toothbrush thing being used on another child's hair who has thick hair - the whispy bits were sprayed and smoothed back last min before going into an exam and that seems to work too my experience has been to do all the above - getting the ponytail right too helps and then after all the gel /spray etc - to just leave it - its very tempting to go back and try mess with it more lol hope this helps - understand your pain ! ​ Let us know what works for you ? ...when u get time ! lol

  3. Tonsillitus makes you feel bad on its own without all the other stuff - my DD is up and down at the moment - its dad that's getting very teary as the date is looming - I'm keeping calm and labelling on ! ! hope he's better soon Ballet4Boyz

We are newbies - and yes lots of advise from others on here has been great - thank you I'm sure its the right decision for my DD but as time getting closer dreading the goodbye - my DD getting a little nervous now .. she s gonna love it and have fab time but worrying about being away from her family .. I'm just reassuring her that she'll be busy and others will feel same
  5. hello - need some advcie about an item on boarding list - Linen bag ? is this for laundry ? what size does it need to be ? Also - how do you name socks - especially the ballet ones!? Are suitcases stored away once emptied ? is it 8 to a room for year 7? (girls?) plus my top tip is a glass of pimms is currently helping me get through the sewing on of name labels !!!

  15. Thanks Anna c - and I've just realised that my post wasn't clear I was trying to quote Amos 73 ! I have finally got applications in for RBS, Tring, Hammond and Elmhurst - phew !

  18. Hi all Getting ready for audition year next year !! I think I'm right in this information ? Tring - can apply from July onwards Royal - not sure when - have to keep looking at the website !? Hammond - same as Tring Elmhurst - not sure ? Anybody help me further Wish i'd took notes of dates/when to applly last year on here !! also do each school require different photos !? lots to plan and think about ! Thanks IA

  22. I have a question sorry if seems daft ... but I don't know much about ballet world learning all the time !!? I'm just wondering once you have secured a place at a vocational school are the pupils then not able to participate in events such as EYB or festivals etc ? Thanks
