  1. My dd has audition next week too, she will be wearing full soles as the split soles didn't suit her feet, she wont be wearing new ballet shoes but ones she has worn to previous auditions.
  2. We will need to take a packed lunch, but might be difficult as we're staying in a hotel the night before! was hoping they would provide lunch!

  4. Theres 16 in one group & 15 in my dd group, i've always assumed its 12 girls & 12 boys that are accepted with maybe a couple as day students?

  8. Yes i did ring them, they said letters have been sent out, but allow up to 5 days! Didn't think 1st class could take that long!

  13. Dd auditioned on 20th jan, the waiting is awful especially as dd asks as soon as shes out of school!
  14. Cant imagine how anyone could turn a place down at white lodge considering how competitive it is to get in, places are like gold dust! If i were you and my dd was lucky enough to be offered a place at white lodge i'd accept it over yda.
  15. No i dont think london have been sent yet, we are still waiting,hopefully they will arrive next week.
  16. Hi my dd was on swl for yr 4 but no place came up, she auditioned the following yr and got a yes for yr 5. Good luck!

  18. Hi, if your dd enjoyed the audition last year then audition again this year! Best advice is to relax, smile and enjoy the experience.good luck to your dd x

My dd did a few festivals when she was about 6 or 7, she enjoyed them and did well coming back with a few medals, she loved wearing a tutu and wearing a bit of make-up!, however i found them expensive, what with the private lessons she needed to learn the solos, and the travel involved. I withdrew dd from festivals, her teacher didnt like that as the school was quite heavily involved with the all england competitions. I personally think a child can still do v.well in dancing without doing festivals, if they have talent & potential it will get noticed, especially if considering auditioning for associate programmes later on. My dd stopped festivals a few years ago, but is now a rbs ja, and has reached elmhurst finals! The only benefit i can think of with festivals is they develop stage confidence, & performance skills.
