  8. Hi dd has a sixth form dance course audition soon, does anyone know how Tring compares to other schools such as Elmhurst, Central etc? Dd is probably more classical focused so was wondering if Tring is more focused on contemporary, jazz? What is the standard of teaching of classical ballet at Tring & graduate employment etc? Thankyou!

  16. It does give this impression doesn't it? Can understand a DVD application for overseas applicants, but to ask that everyone sends one in just to hopefully get a preliminary Audition seems crazy. As far as I know RBS don't ask for a DVD application only from international applicants?
  17. Many thanks for all the replies Ballet West will certainly be a school for dd to consider
  18. Hi does anyone have any experience of Ballet West School dd would like to apply, wondering what the student accommodation costs & where it is etc? teaching standard etc thank you
  19. Hi need some advice dd keen to audition for central & Elmhurst, feeling concerned that if offered a place how do they cope at 16 with cooking, cleaning etc as well as studies? Seems very young & surely at that age would need house parents for guidance, does anyone have dc at these schools? Thanks 🤔
  20. Had a look at Zurich ballet academy website and it states no tuition fees! Am I reading correctly? Does anyone know much about this school? Thanks
  21. As far as I know the only other school that offers the same degree course as central is Rambert? I find it amazing that dance & drama awards offer no help towards living/boarding expenses if on a middle income! Dd has had a mds award a couple of years ago & that included boarding thankfully.
  22. Is that 10k per term or for the entire academic year?
  23. Yes dd did a one day course with central & the student accommodation they recommend is approx £200 per week! Scary and as you say food etc on top of that. She might have to go as a day student if fortunate to be offered a place 😃
