    I am looking at options for ballet associate programmes for my daughter and have come across the Elite Ballet Project in Kent. For reference, she’s not RBS level but is a talented dancer and does need some extra training. It’s not one I had heard of before so wondered if anyone else had any experience there? Many thanks in advance.

    Yes that’s what has happened- she’s the only 11 year old in her class I think. The rest are older and she’s not used to being one of the little ones! I have read a lot of the info people have suggested to me and am very happy that her teacher at her “home” school is correct in her decision. She’s told her what she needs to work on in order to be more ready as she does by strength/ ability rather than age and it’s up to my daughter now if she puts the work in or not!

    Yes definitely wonder if something has been lost in translation! My daughter is usually quite savvy but think she’s feeling a little left out. She thinks she’s older than she actually is…

    I should also add that I have not spoken to the associate programme about this… I am going only on my 11 year old’s interpretation of the conversations and she’s desperate for pointe shoes like they all are!

    Hi, my daughter is 11 and is getting conflicting information re the transition to pointe work. Her main teacher is adamant she isn’t ready yet and I have to say I agree with her. But the teachers at her associate programme have told her that she’ll be held back if she’s not on pointe as the rest of the girls in her class are (she’s one of the youngest in her group) I am sure there’s plenty of discussion on this in the forums but I didn’t manage to find it! Thanks everyone
