  1. Selling this brand new pair of tights for £30 including UK postage. I ordered size M and L for my son to try for size; the L were too big but he accidentally cut the label out (as he does all his tights) and put them in the wash with the others. So they have been washed once but not worn, and the care label is off, therefore I can't return them to the store for a refund. They are uniform for a few schools - in this case Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The details - and care instructions - are on the Wear Moi website here: https://wearmoi.com/en/tights/777-89324-hidalgo.html#/29-size-l/112-color-grey Please DM me if interested.
  2. Other costs to bear in mind: - compulsory healthcare /insurance /physiotherapy (varies widely) - uniform/shoes and essential equipment - travel (eg public transport to/from studios if relevant, or travel home for visits, or your travel to visit them) - whether accommodation includes bills/utilities/contents insurance/tv licence - whether tenancy is payable term-time only or 41 weeks or full year - whether fully catered for or buying/cooking own meals - initial cost of equipping them to go, especially if not in catered accommodation (all kitchen/cooking/eating equipment, bedding if different size bed from home, room decoration…) It all adds up massively!
  3. Just looked back at emails from the 2018 castings. The Academy look to their CAT students for casting the roles of Party Children (the little Mice are cast from auditions in Open Classes). This is decided by ballet staff within the Company and is without audition, largely based on height and the sizes of the costumes (which are pre-made). Rehearsals for the children cast began during the last 2 weeks of the Summer Intensive (6th – 18th August that year) and then lots more between Sep-Dec. Hope that helps a bit, although doesn't answer your question exactly.
  4. If you follow Academy of Northern Ballet on social media, they're posting quite a few things about this. The teaching faculty will be very good - likely Yoko Ichino and others - and the studios are world class, it's amazing in there.
  5. Hi again Petitallegro ... I looked back onto the RCS website and there is some info on acceptance dates ... scroll right down near the bottom of the page and find How to Apply > Replying to offers - it looks like your reply date will depend on your offer date. But best option is for your DC to check on UCAS Track as they contact the applicant, not the parent. Hope that helps!
  6. I think the acceptance date is weeks away - sorry I don't have it to hand (not brilliantly helpful!). Although there is a Q&A zoom meeting for "offer holders" on Thurs 14th April.
  7. Elmhurst SLT and office staff are in until Tuesday, I believe. They have yet to send results for full-time places. BalletMummy123, I would have done exactly what you did. I'm sure it won't affect your application - it's just a very busy time, which is probably why you haven't heard back.
  8. If it helps clear up confusion, the open classes/Associates/CAT scheme side of things is called the "Academy of Northern Ballet" (not Northern Ballet Academy).
  9. Hi .. My child trained on the CAT programme at the Academy of Northern Ballet for six years and I have only good things to say about it, as the perfect alternative to going away to vocational school. You will need to be prepared for a time commitment, travelling to and from Leeds up to 4 times a week and also a chunk of all school holidays as required intensives .. most graduating students are successful in gaining places at vocational schools post-16 (ENBS, RCS, RBS, Central, Hammond, Northern, Tring, Hamburg and more) and are not disadvantaged by not having taken the full-time vocational route .. feel free to DM me with questions.
