  1. My dd was an associate an ENBS last year, and the statistics they gave are similar: expecting 400 applications for approximately 15-20 places in the 1st Year Women’s class.
  2. We have some experience of French schools. The Opera Ballet School in Paris and Rosella Hightower in Cannes. In general, the process starts way later than the UK and it can be difficult to find information. The websites are not fantastic. The information only became available early in the new year. The Opera Ballet School requires a video and pictures, and I believe this is all due in March. The English translation is not fantastic, so I would encourage you to call and find out about their process. For Rosella HIghtower, the first opportunity is in mid/late April. There is also July auditions. The process here is all in one day with first round early in the morning and second round in the afternoon. Very few make it through! Also, they go by year of birth rather than school year. So my dd was 2006 birthday while some of her friends were 2007. They were all year 11, but my dd was put in with the older year audition and her friend was for the younger year (two different dates) From what I gathered, lack of French is not a problem as they adapt quickly. Hope this helps!

  4. You could also look at London Studio Centre. There is a good number of 16 year olds going into the classical ballet stream in September. If their auditions are finished, it might be worth reaching out anyways.
  5. Hello. My DD is there for the spring intensive right now. She started yesterday. She is really loving it but it is six hours of dance, so she is really tired at the end of each day! They start with Pilates/warm up then ballet, pointe, jazz and contemporary. Each class 1.5 hrs. First day was an assessment to put them in groups according to age and ability. She is not living there as her grandparents have a place in Cannes, so can’t comment on accommodation. Her ballet teacher is Silviane Bayard of Prix de Lausanne fame. My DD says she is amazing and so glad she got her. Her class is only 15 dancers, but not sure if this might change for summer or the younger groups. She is in the top group where most are 18-20. She is 16. She said most of the other girls are around 13-14. Teaching is a mix of French and English. She says the studios are big and very nice. All the other teachers are current faculty of Rosella Hightower. The timetables for spring and all the teachers are listed on the website right now. Hope this is helpful
  6. Sending good vibes your way for a good outcome. Let's hope it all works out in the end!
  7. Yes. DD on the waiting list. No idea where on it she is. Any knowledge of how long these lists tend to be?
  8. Hello all Looking for some feedback on the Joffrey Ballet School SI's. The New York City school, not Chicago. Lots of mixed views out there. I know it is not very selective and that the groups tend to be very large. However, very little out there about the quality of the training or whether it is worth the money. The list of teachers looks really good. Any feedback gratefully received. Thank you

Hello all. Has anyone who did the London audition on the 27th heard back?
  10. No I haven't but I do see the name pop up. Will investigate. Thank you!
  11. Dear All We have just received the rejection letter from Tring Upper School. It is heartbreaking when DD has several auditions to upper schools in the next coming months. I would be grateful of examples of children who went on to receive offers from other Upper Schools after the Tring rejection. I suppose that Tring must have much fewer places available than other upper schools given they have pupils moving up to the Upper School from the younger years. My DD's dream is to pursue classical ballet as a career. Thanks in advance!
  12. Thank you. We finally received the email yesterday evening as well.
  13. Thank you. Will keep refreshing email!!
