  1. Now that would be amazing. Doesn't an ex Hammond dancer who was in my son's year dance with Alvin Ailey company?
  2. Was shocked to see the tweet. I have seen nothing but fab reviews of the company S work since he took over
  3. Congratulations. Does she know which she will choose?
  4. Am sure your beautiful daughter will be fab Angel and they will grab the opportunity to have such a beautiful dancer with both hands. Are they allowed to do any company like Phyllis Bedells. I have never asked.... Mind you, they are kept very busy...
  5. For anyone wanting some ballet Easter viewing, you will find that LCB have uploaded some of their ballets to you tube, including a personal favourite of mine Scarlet Pimpernel, choreographed by the late and talented David Fielding. ballet Shoes, Snow White, A Little Princess and Rumpelstiltskin also on there. Happy viewing
  6. I would have been cross had I paid the extra money for cup tkt. It bought a place on a raised platform of about 9 inches. As I am a shorty I still would t have seen!!
  7. Just won tickets to go from harlequin floors. Yay!
  8. Kiwimum i`m so sorry to hear about your DD`s experience. Was it for a classical contract? Yes Lisa...it was for a classical contract. On the plus side, she had a lovely weekend away with her sister in Denmark
  9. True...my apologies. Got carried away buty excitement for boy. Mods feel free to remove my post if identifying boy too easily. I agree with pictures comment.
  10. That is true and Rupert and latest boy went to Tring: the teachers there to be congratulated again.
  11. Am feeling very cynical at the moment and I wouldn't encourage anyone to embark on the roller coaster.....as if we had a choice!
  12. Too true, Tabitha. My dd was at an audition for a short term contract in Copenhagen at the weekend and hundreds were invited...all of a great standard...and 5 were kept behind. It is soul destroying. I realise the journey is worthwhile for the journey's sake...but at a high cost when there is so little likelihood of employment at the end and often at such a great financial cost to the families. I believe we are training too many dancers and that many of them are set for disappointment at the end of it all....not that I do not value the skills and qualities that dance offers them along the way.
  13. That's when we found out last year. 2 days after finals
  14. There are upper school finals over the next couple of weeks. I know of some Tring children who will be attending the finals and who are on MDS.
  15. There will still be a lot of shuffling around of MDS places. There will be ur 11 pupils on MDS who might choose to move to a different school.
  16. They may as well as they have paid for the audition and probably the hotel and, for some, Elmhurst might be their first choice. It's always good to know what your options are if lucky enough to have multiple offers
  17. My then Year 9 (at vocational school) daughter was lucky enough to do this course last year and loved every minute of it. They covered a lot in just a few days and the faculty was fab! Lots of encouragement and advice. Thoroughly recommend it to everyone.
  18. They do not telephone any more so nos and yesses hear at the same time. It was lovely when they did phone. We heard on the motorway on the way back from the audition. Could have been dangerous:)
  19. It was a super week highly recommended xx
  20. My younger dancing lad followed his sister into ballet. He showed no early promise, scoring 45% in his RAD grade 1. He gave up shortly after that! A year or so later he went with his brother and sister to try out a jazz clAss. His brother didn't start but the other 2 did and then started to take ballet at the same school. Something had changed cos within the year he had scored 91% in his grade 2 and was an RBS ha. He was lucky enough to be offered a place at Tribg Park... A happy school with great training... Last year he was offered the chance to train in Londonand is enjoying the independence that brings! I often wonder what would have happened had he hated the jazz class!!
