  1. DD is auditioning for RBS senior associates - prelims next week. I’ve had a look on here for info but I couldn’t find much on seniors. Few wonderings … Are there places available for dancers who haven’t been JA or MA? Does anyone have experience of the audition class? What’s expected, pointe, flexibility etc? I ticked the box for both SA and WL prelim, I don’t think she’s WL ready but I figured it’s best to let them say no, will the audition be any different to just SA groups? DD is already in 2 well-known associates classes and attends summer intensives etc, but she has never tried for anything with RBS. Any advice, tips, info xxx
  2. Sounds like it’s just the 13+ CAT? It was a really tough audition.
  3. Results are coming through. It’s a no for DD. She was expecting a no so is ok, disappointed but ok.
  4. Good luck to him! Were there many boys? I think I only saw one go in.
  5. Yeah, they said by Monday 20th. Which group was your daughter in?
  6. Tough audition! DD enjoyed it but found it much more difficult than last year. I hope everyone else got on ok.
  7. DD uses the M&S ones. They do different styles and absorbencies, plus they seem to wash really well (she’s very irregular so they’re in constant use in case of emergencies!). She has some high leg pink ones that she wears quite happily under all of her leotards. They have size 6 online, but the size 8 are quite tight fitting. Definitely worth a try if you’re after something inexpensive and easily available!
  8. Not seen any similar threads coming up for this years auditions so thought I’d re-activate this one. DD is trying again! In her words “if I don’t try then I’m giving myself an automatic no”. She’s still in her other associate classes and is quite content to stick with them but wants to give the chance of a CAT place another go. She’s very aware of the minuscule chance of a recall, she never stops impressing me with her resilience! I wanted to say good luck to anyone auditioning next weekend! 🩰🩰
  9. Any more good news? DD’s been offered another year. 😁
  10. DD got wait list which I’m happy with after her feeling somewhat blown away by the competition at the scholarship auditions. It’s been very much a ‘not yet’ kind of year for her!
  11. Good luck everyone! DD didn’t get to finals but she’s determined to try again next year!
  12. She’ll continue with them but there’s always the risk of being assessed out. Her main associates is one of the well-known schools so she’s hoping to keep her place but it’s not guaranteed.
  13. Sorry to hear that. I hope your daughter is ok. After a few tears, DD is seeing that it’s more of a not yet or not here response. We’ve got lots of thinking to do though, I’m not sure either of us want another year of the ups and downs of auditions.
  14. It’s a no for us. Sad DD but time to reflect on all the yeses and nos she’s had and whether to try again or call it a day.
  15. It’s very mysterious 😂 Hopefully we’ll hear something this week. Goid luck everyone!
  16. 11-12yr old. Went in at 8.45, audition 9-10.15. Maybe there were more groups? She only auditioned for CAT though so maybe different group to the ones who didn’t look at flexibility?
  17. DD said they did flexibility in the morning group, but just hamstrings, frog and straddle I think? She’s not giving much away though. 😂
  18. In what ways we’re they different? I wonder if it’s because they’re different age groups so maybe wanting different levels?
  19. Which group was she in? My daughter was in the 8.45 11-12 year old group. There were quite a few lining up.
  20. She’ll definitely drop the associates if she got a place. We chose CAT because it feels easier logistically than our current run of classes and associates. The scheme looks brilliant!
  21. Good advice! She’s quite relaxed about tomorrow she tends to see all the auditions as a chance for an extra class which seems like a good approach.
  22. Oops! Half my post is missing? apologies @glowlight That’s good to know. I wasn’t sure if they needed to be at the level of the same age group which might be quite difficult when joining a group who’ve been in CAT since Y6. DD is current Y7. She’s already in 2 associate programmes so we thought just CAT for this audition. Perhaps a mistake?
