  1. I think if social media wasn't a huge part of these tiny dancers lives, the intensives wouldn't be a thing! I'm sure its being seen to attend them that is the real pull, not necessarily the taking part! I am quite shocked at the amount some children have done this summer, how on earth do families facilitate this, flying all over the world for ballet class just seems a bit ridiculous to me, maybe i'm cynical, or maybe these ballet girls have no siblings and their parents don't have to work?
  2. we are JA3 London, my older daughter has just finished Ja's and moving into MA's, when she started we ordered the shoes from the uniform shop but they were terrible fit, baggy and over sized, she did wear them for some of the term and then i gave in and let her wear her normal split sole canvas which everyone else in her class was wearing! So i'll just let my younger daughter wear her normal ballet shoes! I need to read the info booklet as i didn't and hadn't seem that we need to submit school report or a headshot!
  3. my daughter has been offered a london place, only let her audition as my eldest did it,(she's just finished JA's and is starting Ma's in september) never expected her to get in, shes a very different dancer to my older daughter!! I'm not sure we will accept the place as i think the class times would clash with all her other dance lessons at our dance school, meaning she'd have to stop RAD ballet, modern, tap and strengthening, so would be counterproductive! i am going to try and see if she can be swopped to online lessons as i believe these are on sundays which would work best!
  4. there were 14 in my daughters class, and i think there were at least 3 different classes that ran on a sunday, i'm not sure if it was done in ages, as one week there were 4 birthdays in the same class, which made me wonder if the classes were sorted in ages!
  5. yes she did! she will going into year 6 london classes! she is over the moon x
  6. my little girl did online Associates for 2 years and she really found the classes fantastic. they send you theory ahead of the classes and worked on different areas every week, i found they also really worked on all areas of audition too (improvisation and use of body etc) this helped her massively when auditoning this year x
  7. my daughter will be starting London Year 6, she is so excited, having taken the online classes for 2 years, she can't wait to be in live lessons! Not sure when we will get the info about which class she will be in, anyone know how many year 6's they usually have?
  8. my daughter just got a yes for london classes - she will be year 6, she has done the online associates for 2 years and was desperate to get a place so will be over the moon! x
  9. i took my daughter to audition at the Eastleigh centre but for a place in London, because we couldn't make the London dates. I am now worried incase by the time they got to the London dates they forgot all about children from other centres 🤣 Lets hope that isnt the case!!!
  10. swl again for us too! (london classes)
  11. my daughter did the JEP course and loved it! classes were every two weeks and we had resources emailed ahead of each class with lots of theory which was brilliant!
  12. i was wondering if they are waiting for confirmation that social distancing will be a thing of the past before they confirm children to start in september as i know class sizes are tiny at the moment!
  13. has anyone heard of anyone being offered a place off the SWL? can't imagine any places will come up... unless they can suddenly increase class sizes in January.... ever hopeful 🤣
  14. i think it would have been a nice touch if the RBS auditions team had explained about reduced numbers etc, we've all paid a fee and the children all gave it their best shot in difficult circumstances, i don't think it would have been difficult for them to release a bit more info! its like the secret service with no one really knowing whats going on or how many places are available! or maybe im just nosey 🤣
  15. thank you! yes Its a positive sign and i'll tell her its something to be proud of! shame it wasn't the live audition as i know she'd have enjoyed the experience far more but fingers crossed for next year!
