  1. My DD has attended this summer school 5 times now, it is a wonderful opportunity for students and one I would highly recommend. A fantastic faculty of teachers are dedicated to getting the best out of each and every student, they are caring and nuturing. Students work hard, have fun, make new friends, are taught multiple genres of dance throughout the 5 days and on day 6 a wonderful show is performed to family and friends. This year the students demonstrated jazz, contemporary and drama pieces then went on to perform ballet based on Swan Lake. Bravo! The audience was stunned to discover this had been put together in 5/6 days. My DD had a fantastic week and wished she could do it all again the next week!
  2. Hi @MrsKrabz@MrsKrabz sorry for the delayed reply... I did a search on compare the market and came up with Southdowns which is part of the Axa group. It allowed me put my DD as the policy holder with my bank details etc.
  3. I don't however have I've bought a single trip policy for DD for the 6 days which covers cancellation due to covid 19, illness and injury so hoping that is what I need. Also hoping we won't need it!! Thanks for your reply.
  4. Hi, does anyone know about insurance for summer school for a day student, not residential please? Where would I go for this/do people even buy this insurance? Struggling to find anything online. Thinking same as @SJBallet in case of illness, injury or dare I say covid related isolation. Thank you.
  5. A no here too, fully expected however so not feeling too disappointed. DD doesn't know yet. She auditioned for Leeds Y5.
  6. Yes I knew they'd just watch certain bits of the recordings, some more than others depending on if they like what they see, and as you say skip through instructions etc 🙂 Now grp 1 are back - congrats to the yes children and commiserations to the not this times, its been a long process 😔 hopefully they'll move through the remaining groups efficiently over the coming weeks. Good luck to everyone else!
  7. Yes we thought it was extremely quiet too. We used a Chromebook and could only just hear what the teacher was saying!
  8. We are grp 2 and our video was watched on Tuesday, 12 minutes of it - I uploaded it as a whole rather than 3 sections. DD didn't show her full potential on the day however so I'm not expecting a yes this time. In the email they said expect to hear approx 4 weeks after the closing date, so would be mid October if they manage to get through them.
  9. My dd has done her video audition for Leeds today. I'm currently trying to upload it to YouTube, it estimates 3 hours - is this what other people experienced?! 🤔 The file is 3GB. Thanks. Estimate was way off, its uploaded already!
  10. Unfortunately it's a no for my DD Yr 5 Manchester. She's feeling really disappointed. We are very proud of her regardless of the outcome. Onwards and upwards. Congrats to all those who have got a place!
  11. My DD really enjoyed the audition today. It went well for the most part and I'm happy she had a good time. It was great to watch the audition! They said we will know the outcome by the end of the week so we will wait and see.
  12. How is each child identified? The email says to put their name in on zoom (I've never done this before for her regular classes), doesn't mention identifying them by a number or putting anything on their leotard. Is that right?
