Our teacher emailed us yesterday to tell us that they are hoping to do in person auditions and we should hear from them in April if dd has been successful for that. So hopefully the wait won’t be to long!

Do you regret spending so much time and money on dance for your children? Do you wish you’d had more family time etc? My children adore dancing, competitions, associate classes, online classes, gymnastics etc but I feel that our life often revolves around it and I wonder if we’re missing out on other things by following and encouraging it all at such young ages knowing a career in this subject isnt easy and may never happen. My children all have a wonderful life and we do many lovely days out but I feel dance is always on the back of everyone’s mind no matter where we are or what we’re doing and it does ‘take over’. So I suppose my question is do you wish you didn’t support/encourage this route for your children? Or do you wish you’d kept it as a weekend class hobby?

Has anybody else noticed that they’ve moved the deadline to tomorrow at 11am .. I’m positive it was due to close today.

Yes same here! My dds teacher says has a lot of potential and everything royal ballet are looking for (as I’m sure many others do, her teacher has had several children gain places) but if she isn’t right for them I’d rather know so we don’t keep auditioning and breaking my daughters heart. It would be so lovely to get feedback.

That is what I believe from my email response .. however the application did say somewhere they would like to have them in person if rules allow? I’m sure I read that and it wasn’t a dream?

I emailed roughly a month ago asking about preliminary auditions and was told the process is the same as last year.

I’m going to presume they’ve had less applicants this year .. it is a little frustrating though. I think most people who are auditioning would have already submitted..

Same here! I’m glad it’s done now though! Dd tried her best.

When Dd went to the insight day they said if one centre is your only option then don’t put two down.

We have done this. was hoping it will show we only want the one centre but we don’t mind how many weeks she just wants to join! (wishful thinking!)

I think they will do in person based on the videos. Narrow it down then decide who they want to see in person.

How long did we wait for results last year?

Filming this weekend. Not sure how I’m feeling about it all but dd is keen to try again and I won’t stand in her way.

Ah remember you both too! We will definitely be submitting as late as possible! Glad we aren’t the only crazy ones going for it again! Lol

I could have wrote this myself. My dd really is an incredible dancer. She has won scholarships for her ballet, several awards at festivals for her ballet solo and people say when they watch her dance they forget everything that is going on around her because she just sucks you in. I feel a little cheated by the whole experience and I’m just glad it hasn’t knocked her confidence. She wants to try again so we will I just prey it isn’t via video!

That’s promising thank you. Her teacher did say it’s harder for the children July onwards and usually they gain the places in year 5. Elmhurst was her aim and she achieved that, RB would have been an incredible bonus so she’ll be ok!

I’m sure it’s the email sent out to all no’s but she will try again. X

Yes we got a no and asked to audition again next year after another year with her current teacher.
