  1. I can only really speak about RCS where my son is in first year. He was lucky enough to have several offers last year and was pleased to have RCS among them as that was his first choice. The class sizes are small which I think is one of the main benefits. They get lots of personal attention from the teachers and are known well by all the staff. RCS seems to give them good prospects for employment at the end I hope! My son has had a minor knee issue and had no trouble accessing the Scottish Ballet physio about it. Accommodation is I’m sure better than London as I did look into what was around there. At RCS they can stay in Base (Freshliving.com) which is a few minute walk from the studios. It’s also in walking distance of city centre shops etc. There is good student support here from staff. The rooms are lovely and modern with on site laundry etc. 6 students all have en-suite rooms and share a kitchen/lounge. There is also a gym/ dance studios/cinema rooms/study rooms/roof terrace in Base. Another good thing about RCS is the collaboration with other disciplines in the Conservatoire. They’ve just done a piano and dance festival collab and my son is choosing his optional modules for next year which can be from other areas in RCS. I think he did make the right choice...but I suppose you don’t know for sure until the end when it comes to getting a job! Good luck.
  2. My son is in first year and really enjoying it. Small class sizes with plenty of corrections etc seemed to be a strong reason for choosing it over the others. Also seems to be geared to what companies are looking for with plenty contemporary too. Accommodation superb - look at Base Glasgow on the Fresh Living website. Get way more for your £ than London schools. And again due to the small classes, there is good support from Staff pastorally who get to know all the students. Glasgow is a lovely city too- my son is enjoying his city experience having lived in a small village before. He’s made lots of friends on the course and on other courses at RCS. Good luck with whatever you decide.
  3. In general they have funding for about 4 Scottish and European students, and then the rest of the places (up to full class of 20) come from rest of UK and overseas. So easier for English students to get in than Scottish ones bizarrely. My son is just about to start and chosen this over Central etc which he also got places at - thinks smaller classes means more attention from teachers, more corrections etc. Very good record for getting jobs at the end of the course. And the accommodation is lovely (and about half the price of London)
  4. e-mails perhaps being sent out alphabetically as we are a "W". Happily it was a yes for us.
  5. We are still waiting too 😩 Maybe emails take longer to get to Scotland? 😉
