  1. Which will she be going to @Pinkshoes? Sometimes there are specifics that apply to a particular intensive, we’ve found. My DD has been to 5-6 different intensives and it’s been suggested they bring, for example, a swimming costume through to character shoes and skirts, to wellies, and/or their own bedding… but not for all!

Whichever she is doing, I hope she has the best time 😊

  2. Hello,

I would be really grateful if anyone could share their experiences of Moorland as a full time school (as opposed to their Associate programme or summer school I guess). We have experience of their SS, which in our opinion was excellent.

We’ve had this in the back of our minds for some time now, but didn’t quite feel ready until this year. Who knows, it still might not be the right time…!

Any experience of the application process, what a typical day looks like, how many in a class, and most importantly, whether your child is happy… would be appreciated.

    Thanks so much 🙂

Just got the arrival and departure times. Does anyone know if they allow a younger sibling to watch too.....I literally have no one to leave her with as will have to stay the night before, and her dad works nights and my family are away on holiday!!!

I have EXACTLY this dilemma! We were going to travel beforehand, my other child and I, and I’m not sure what I will do now.

I was wondering the same, we had found out by 3rd June last year, but bank holiday may have delayed it

I’m just trying to plan summer around ballet intensives and other child related activities!

Hopefully we’ll know one way or the other soon.

Do you know if the yeses and no’s come out at the same time/day?

It was an expected no for DD. She enjoyed it but was a bit blown away by the competition. She’s non-vocational but does go to 2 well-known associate classes, but she knew straight away that she wasn’t in the same league as others in her audition group. It was a great experience for her so she’s glad she tried out.

Which centre did she audition at @DanceMamma? And how old is she? V well done to her for trying. You never know until you try!

My DD has been to two of these. For someone who doesn’t normally like auditions, she actually doesn’t mind these and said the teacher and panel are always very lovely. The ones we know who got these scholarships are all full time vocational students (or about to go full time), and all from one particular school although this is probably coincidence in our case as we don’t really know many people in the dance world. Not to say that no non-full time ever gets it, or none from other schools, just that we personally don’t know of any. I also think some can be awarded it a few times over the years, I might be wrong but I think that’s the case. They do always seem to have a good and friendly atmosphere according to my DD, even for someone like her who doesn’t really know many of the other DCs. However, I do think that in her case it helps that she goes in with literally no expectations whatsoever hahah! She just treats it like a good class. She knows she’s not full time and doesn’t really dance or train as much as others (and for some reason has a default dancing face that looks grumpy)…even when she’s happy. Because of this, she has always enjoyed it. She’s never asked me for the result, now that I think about it.

@Neverdancedjustamumdid you also put in a ‘normal’ application for your daughter? Was she successful this way? Wonder if those who attend the scholarship audition but aren’t successful can be successful via the normal route? 🤔

I received an email at the end of July saying our associate teacher would be in touch with what equipment we needed to buy for associate class but haven’t received this yet? Has anyone else?

@Ballerina_girlwhich location are you starting? We also had the email in July but no further email re: equipment since. I’m now thinking that they’ll get the students know in the first class. Im

    sure it will be fine.

My dd's result took about 5 weeks although not had the certificate yet.

    Thank you!

That’s exactly what I was looking for, just a rough estimate of how long the results might take.

I haven’t been involved in the technical/recording/submitting side (thankfully!).

Hopefully we might hear soon 🤞🏼

  10. Has anyone’s DC been invited to the final auditions this weekend?

Are you still waiting for the details to be sent to you of what to expect etc?

We are and I’m slightly panicked that they might need to prepare something in advance 😬

Thank you both so much. She is sooooo happy!

Agh this is Tiny, I got locked out of my account so thought I had to set a new one up. I’m going to try and go back to Tiny though now!!
