  1. UK students get funding and bursaries depending on salary. I think Brussels is very reasonable compared to UK schools, although I haven't got any accommodation prices yet. Mind you its the accommodation that racks up the price, especially if there is no boarding attached to the school.
  2. My daughter (16) from the UK has also been offered a place starting Sept 24. My only concern is the accommodation. I'm hoping to go over for a look around in May
  3. I'm a pointe fitter and I would turn away any student at 9years old. Long term damage to their developing feet is a risk. Their bones aren't fused together and they can really damage their joints and bones. Youngest I have fitted is 11 years old. She was a RBS associate so had been practising metatarsal exercises for two years previous. I fitted her with a soft shank beginner shoe. It pains me seeing young girls on social media doing pointe work. I had a mother trying to get me to fit her 8 year old. Absolutely not and I imagine she was doing the rounds with the dance shops, who all prob refused her. Waiting and strengthening the feet has so many benefits. I know it's tough as they want to do everything NOW and feel like a real ballerina, but trust me when I say its more important to have strong intrinsic muscles in the arches and strong metatarsals. Another interesting point I was taught was waiting until the girl has started her period as it shows a maturity of the body. Interesting as some girls can start very early and as young as 9/10yrs old. Anyway good luck mums x
  4. Congratulations to all. I’m hearing it’s a very tough year with so many applications. Xx To the no’s and maybes, never give up. There’s So much movement over the years. Growth spurts and development can have a huge affect during auditions. Tough year for auditions x
  5. @Jete Battumy DD is current year 8 and a girl got in from the summer school. Think she started 2/3 weeks after she did. Not saying it will happen but it’s a good place to be seen by staff, Ms Whiteman and Mr Parker. It’s a great summer school regardless x
  6. @Raquelle I’m sure they will sort this out. The finance lady there works closely with parents as MDS requirements change each year for parents depending on earnings. I know of kids having MDS, then not having MDS and vice versa. Congrats to your daughter. X
  7. Congrats everyone. 😃 If it’s a no, try the Elmhurst summer school. Good way to be seen by Robert Parker. X
  8. Good luck to all your kids. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞My DD is year 8 Elmhurst and having the best time. Looking forward to seeing some new faces in sept xx
